I taught myself SFX (special effects) makeup in high school by watching a million YouTube videos and practicing on myself and my friends. I've run this program at two different libraires so far, and each time it has been as rewarding as you can imagine. The participants are amazed to see how easy it is to put together a special effects look. During their application process I like to have a discussion of how many times they've seen this exact look in movies or TV programs. It's always a great time to see how excited they get!
